Where I saw Him

An original poem | A Peculiar Poet

I saw Him in the morning

When the weather turned to Fall,

As the warm air ceased its kisses,

And the wind brought birdsongs call.

I saw Him in the garden

When the flowers bloomed the best

For He showed me space is needful,

Should I desire better than the rest.

I saw Him among the bergamot

When He called the chorus wing–

As the hummingbirds visited often,

While the finches did sweetly sing.

I saw Him on the zinnias

When all a-flutter all did fly,

And the blue-sky framed the rainbow

While the butterflies danced on high.

I saw Him in the sunsets,
I saw Him in the skies,

I saw HIm on the roads of dirt,

I saw Him despite the lies.

I found HIm when I sought HIm

As I ached and shed a tear,

I found Him fully faithful,

When my solitude was my fear.

I saw Him every moment

When I chose stillness over noise,

Though I supposed it’s for this season

So I’ll rejoice fully in these joys.

All the while I know He’s working,

Soon enough He’ll try my frame,

But now I see Him in the Autumn,

And find solace in His Good name.
